Collaborative Therapeutic Music:Bridging Clinical Insight & Artistic Expression
Music’s capacity to heal and transform shines brightest in collaboration. As a board-certified music therapist and multi-instrumentalist (including erhu), I partner with individuals and organizations to co-create therapeutic music experiences—whether in clinical, educational, or artistic settings. These engagements are designed to foster connection, expression, and well-being through intentional, music-centered interactions. Let’s explore how live music-making can deepen and elevate your work.
Intercultural Music-Making: An Educational Project
This initiative invited college music majors to learn and perform traditional Chinese music, fostering cultural empathy through immersive artistic exchange. Participants explored the history, techniques, and emotional language of Chinese instruments (such as the erhu), bridging cultural divides through collaborative music-making. The project was led by Dr. Jingwen Zhang and Dr. Phyllis Chen.
